More than 50% of U.S. dentists still place “silver”, or amalgam fillings. However, many patients are unaware that “silver” fillings contain as much as 50% Mercury, a known neurotoxin. Dr. Anders has not placed a silver Mercury filling for over 10 years.

She is one of very few dentists in Western North Carolina to practice the Safe Amalgam Removal process set in place by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). Up to 10 times more Mercury is released during the removal process than when placing a mercury filling. Dr. Anders is sure to take special precautions to protect our patients, staff and the office environment from harmful Mercury vapors.  Dr. Anders uses special equipment, specifically designed to safely remove Mercury particles from the air and store them for safe disposal. We never release Mercury back into the environment! The use of special detoxifying remedies also sets our Safe Amalgam Removal process apart from other dental practices.

Every Mercury Removal appointment begins with NDF Mouth Rinse, a detox rinse specifically designed to eliminate Mercury vapor in the mouth. Activated Charcoal is given at the beginning and end of the appointment to bind to any Mercury vapors that have gotten past other layers of protection.
